Spring Forward

Spring Forward is equal parts Care + Compassion + Health Education & Promotion + Resources. Our passion lies in the individual behaviors and systemic factors that contribute to health. Through Spring Forward, we help people manage habits, strengthen relationships, and cultivate nurturing environments that can help prevent illness.

We are community-based and collaborative, ensuring that individuals receive tailored services and support. We also provide professional development opportunities and trainings to health education specialists, community health workers, and other health professionals. 

Community Health Worker Training

This course is accredited (No. 022-2024-G) by the Maryland Department of Health to provide essential skills for those who wish to become certified community health workers in the State of Maryland. In this training, we not only focus on the skills but we give attention to the version of us that shows up when we do our work. We will reflect upon our internal environment (mindset, beliefs, biases, etc.) as well as our communities.

 

Format: In person, online, and hybrid options | 109.5 hours in class and a 40-hour field experience

Stories of Baltimore Fathers

Although the transition to parenthood is considered a developmental crisis period
that leaves parents vulnerable to poor health outcomes, the needs of fathers are often
overlooked. Much of the current research about fathers is deficit-based, focused on the problems and absenteeism. For my dissertation, I conducted a strengths-based study exploring the motivations of involved Baltimore fathers.
